  • Identity verification: Campaign Owners may be required to provide government-issued ID and other identity documents to comply with Stripe Connect’s Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.

Information collected automatically:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages visited.
  • Device information: Device type, screen resolution, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage data: How you interact with our platform, including campaigns viewed, donations made, and features used.
  • Cookies and tracking technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 6 below.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Process donations and disburse funds to Campaign Owners.
  • Verify identities and prevent fraud.
  • Communicate with you about your account, campaigns, or donations.
  • Send platform updates, policy changes, and service notifications.
  • Respond to support requests and resolve disputes.
  • Improve and optimize our platform and user experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.

3. Stripe Data Handling

All payment processing on FundTheVillage.org is handled by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor. When you make a donation or set up a Campaign Owner payout account, your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe using their secure infrastructure.

We do not store your full credit card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account numbers on our servers. Stripe collects, processes, and stores payment data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.

Campaign Owners connecting a payout account are subject to Stripe Connect’s identity verification requirements, which may include collecting and verifying government-issued ID, tax identification numbers (e.g., SSN or EIN), and bank account details. This data is collected and held by Stripe, not by FundTheVillage.org.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our platform. Types of cookies we use include:

  • Essential cookies: Required for the platform to function, including session management and login authentication.
  • Preference cookies: Remember your settings and preferences.
